Western Area Volunteer Emergency Services (WAVES) launches EMS eSchedule.
Camillus, New York
Western Area Volunteer Emergency Services (WAVES) is an EMS provider for Onondaga
County in New York State. In addition to the three ambulances and standard ALS
and BLS services, WAVES also partners with the Onondaga County Sherriff's Office
providing paramedics to staff the Sherriff's Office Rescue Helicopter. The helicopter
is in the air during standard shifts and provides quick access to all trauma scenes
in the county. Trauma victims are transported to University Hospital's Trauma
Center where they are treated for their injuries.
WAVES implemented EMS eSchedule in beginning in February 2007. The challenge facing WAVES was keeping a balance in scheduling of volunteer staff and career staff. They needed a product that would help them to create a schedule and manage the dynamic nature of an agency that includes both volunteers and career staff. Additionally WAVES has unique scheduling challenges including a Rescue Helicopter, snowmobile as well as staffing numerous special events. EMS eSchedule was able to accommodate these special needs.
EMS eSchedule provides Internet based human resource software for Emergency Response Agencies (Ambulance, Advanced Life Support, Fire, helicopter transport, etc.). eSchedule functionality includes scheduling, time and attendance, shift availability, training tracking, certification tracking, and much more. eSchedule can accommodate a variety of organizations including volunteer, mixed staff (volunteer and career) as well as municipal and commercial organizations.
